Quebec’s anti-corruption squad, Unité permanente anticorruption (UPAC) has launched an investigation into the awarding of the contract to Cardinal Health Canada, who will be providing a central warehousing of medical supplies for both the MUHC and CUSM.
The contract worth millions of dollars was brought to light by articles in La Presse and Le Devoir, where it was stated Cardinal Health’s US parent had been find millions of dollars by American regulators.  After La Presse and Le Devoir’s published the articles, Quebec Health Minister Réjean Hébert referred the file to Autorité des marches financiers who then transferred it to UPAC.
