Failure is Not Fatal

The time of year is again upon us when the question is asked by a friend, family or we ask it ourselves what will be our New Year’s resolution(s). Considering 80 percent of New Year resolutions have failed by January 20 with only 8 percent successfully achieving their New Year’s resolutions.

For the persistent optimists who resolves to undertake the challenge of a New Year’s resolution(s) and for the 92% who will not achieve this New Year’s  resolution(s), the following ten quotes on failure will help to soften the bitter reverberation of the perennial “maybe next year”.

“What a waste my life would be without all the beautiful mistakes I’ve made.”

― Alice Bag

“If we’re going to be damned, let’s be damned for what we really are.”

― Jean-Luc Picard

“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”

― Douglas Adams

“Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.”

― Oscar Wilde

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit.  No use being a damn fool about it.”

― W.C. Fields

“Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.”

― Albert Einstein

“Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason”

― Jerry Seinfeld

“If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?”

― George Carlin

“Fifty percent of all doctors graduate in the bottom half of their class…”

― Simone Elkeles

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

― Winston S. Churchill

Hope the wisdom of these ten quotes help to ease the ‘pain’ of the New Year resolutions which defeat us, less we forget there is always next year!
