The Era of Emperor Gaétan Barrette

Bill 10 will effect all Quebecers for generations to come , it will introduce profound changes with the administration of our health institutions.  Despite this Health Minister Barrette has decided that he will hand pick who gets appointed to the 28 CISSS regional boards and that he has the final say on decisions.

Health Minister Dr Barrette believes that as our leader he alone knows and decides what is best for his people. The Era of Emperor Gaétan Barrette is upon us!

It is important to note that Health Minister Dr. Barrette as President of the Quebec Medical Specialist Federations argued for and won a 42% pay increase for the Quebec Medical Specialist for the period of 2006-2012.  From 2008-2014 the total increase for Quebec Medical Specialists is 67% or 8.9% per year.

Another important point to note is that both Health Minister Dr. Gaétan Barrette and Quebec Premier Dr. Philippe Couillard are themselves medical specialists.
