MUHC Hands Over to Provincial Police the Results an Independent Review of a Second Car Lease

An external review of expenses order last June by The Montreal University Health Centre (MUHC)  Board of Directors has been handed over to Quebec’s anti-corruption unit, UPAC.

The independent review was order into the expenses incurred by Syscor, a non-profit private subsidiary of the MUHC, after the Montreal Gazette started asking questions regarding a second car lease.

Based on information the news paper received, the second car lease was for Porters wife Pamela Mattock.

Expenses included a Bentley for Porter as well as a second “surprise” car lease.

According to the news report, “Syscor, is involved in information-technology systems, and was at the centre of controversy after entering into a real-estate agreement with a Montreal developer for a property at 1750 Cedar Ave.”

The required permission for the project was never requested from the provincial government, and the MUHC has since pulled out of the deal at a loss of $27 million, according to a government report made public in August.
