The Shriners Hospital offered free parking to its patients, visitors and employees at its old location on Cedar Avenue. And that’ll continue at the Glen site, where they’ll share parking facilities with the MUHC, Montreal Chest Institute and Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Parking at the MUHC can go as high as $25 per day for visitors with discounted rates for cancer and dialysis patients and regular users or family members
MUHC employees union VP of Health and Safety Manuel Fernandes said it may be good for the Shriners hospital though it may not be fair for other hospital users who have to pay for parking.
“I think that’s wonderful,” said Fernandes.
“It just goes to show what the possibilities could be.”
