A six-centimeter tumour was removed from a baby’s brain – a tricky operation at the best of times, even more so when the patient is premature baby less than a week old.
Jolan Lemieux was born via C-section a month before his Sept. 22 due date, with a six-centimeter tumour already apparent on his brain.
“The brain is never ready to face surgery, but the brain of a premature child is very fragile,” said Dr. Farmer, “These tumours, they cause us some shivers.”
The six-hour operation was a success.
