Health minister Gaétan Barrette asks MUHC to ‘clarify’ signage displayed prominently above the front doors to a private clinic at 5100 de Maisonneuve.
Run by the Brunswick Medical Group, staffed with Montreal Children’s physicians and located in a building that’s owned by the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation.
The Clinic charges $25 for a peanut-allergy test and up to $200 for blood work, these tests are covered under medicare if conducted in a hospital.
Catherine Régis, who holds the Canada Research Chair in law and health policy at U de M has questioned “on an ethical level” the MUHC’s decision to use its logo in front of the building if it’s not part of the hospital network.
The MUHC said on Monday that there are no plans to remove the logo.
