The MUHC Glen, From the Caribbean to Antarctica in one week

Order from the McGill Healthcare Infrastructure Group which prohibited the lighting of Christmas trees.

The MUHC Glen site in one week was ‘baptized’ in the media as Glentanamo (Guantanamo), a US naval base in the warm southeastern end of Cuba to Antarctica which has the coldest climate on earth.

Personally the most chilling item in the articles, was the order from the McGill Healthcare Infrastructure Group, the landlord running the Glen campus for the next 34 years, which prohibited the lighting of Christmas trees .

Our Neighbor the Shriner’s Hospital displayed a tall wonderfully lit Christmas tree. Their hospital was built and financed ‘the old fashion way’ and not through a Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Unfortunately the words Public and Partnership appear to apply only to the hundreds of millions of dollars of public money spent in the project. Remember to pack your winter parka and sunscreen because we’re in this ‘adventure’ for the next 30+ years.

Images of the Christmas trees. Thanks to all the individuals who submitted the photos.
