40-year-old Quebec Medicare card gets makeover

Quebec is changing the look of its 40-year-old medicare card

The new design for the ID cards for the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec replaces the old brown and orange background with a pale yellow. It also incorporates new security features including a high resolution black and white photo.
The new cards which look similar to the province’s driver’s licence are currently being distributed as new or replacement cards. The existing Medicare cards are still good until the expiry date.
