The building that still belongs to the MUHC is beset by water infiltration and vandalism
The former Royal Victoria Hospital, closed for almost three years, is in a sorry state. Water has infiltrated many premises, walls and ceilings are rusted and there are traces of vandalism.
Dinu Bumbaru, of Heritage Montreal, compares the situation to what we saw after Chernobyl or more recently in the bankruptcy of the city of Detroit where hundreds of buildings were abandoned.
