Quebec nurses union demands lower patient ratios and less overtime

Constant requests to work overtime in a heavy and stressful environment forced several dozen nurses to protest in Montreal on Friday evening.

They loudly expressing their frustration over nursing shortages which have created a work environment which they say leaves them exhausted and impacts their ability to care for patients.

Health Minister Gaetan Barrette met with the nurses’ union earlier this month and later expressed a willingness to work with nurses to resolve their concerns. Canadian Press
