A 28 year old former patient, at the Douglas hospital in Verdun on Wednesday afternoon stabbed a hospital employee who unlocked the front door.
Other staff reacted quickly calling 911 and locked the suspect between the doors until the police arrived.
The victim a 27 year old male was taken to hospital with what police describe as non-life threatening wounds.
