Glen Superhospital contract contains a clause allowing its annulment in case of prohibited acts
The contract for the Glen Superhospital signed between the McGill University Health Centre and SNC-Lavalin contains a clause allowing its annulment in case of prohibited acts, such has; giving or committing to give […] a gift or consideration of any kind” in exchange for obtaining the contract.
This is precisely what Yanaï Elbaz, former MUHC executive, pleaded guilty to in court this past Monday, giving the Quebec government the opportunity to take advantage of the conviction to rescind the contract.
The public-private partnership contract runs up until 2044 at a total cost of over $4-billion.
