The Ross Pavilion at the old Royal Victoria Hospital will serve as an overflow shelter, with 80 beds being made available throughout the winter months.
Overflow meaning, the beds are only available to people once the shelters are full, it’s not a place that you can go and stand outside and hope you get a bed.
” While shelters are often restrictive to genders, are pet free and have strict rules about intoxication, this one, will have a high level of acceptance”, explained Welcome Hall Mission CEO Sam Watts.
