According to the recently published list by US online magazine Newsweek, “The Best Canadian Hospitals“, the Jewish General Hospital is Montreal’s best.
The JGH with 89.3 points placed 4th in a list of 85 best Canadian hospitals, followed by the Montreal General, 87.9 and Royal Victoria, 87.8.
In total, eight Montreal hospitals made the best of list, with no Quebec hospital achieving the 90 point mark. The Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) with 87.2 points placed 11th and is the top French speaking Quebec hospital on the list.
Toronto General Hospital is the countries best hospital and the only Canadian hospital in the Top 10 global-list, placing 7th. Ten Canadian hospitals ranked in the global 100 list, including three from Quebec, Jewish General, Montreal General and Royal Victoria.
Newsweek, with global market research firm Statista Inc., and private medical insurance provider GeoBlue, based the findings on the opinions of doctors, hospital managers, healthcare professionals, and also included were patients surveys results and medical performance indicators.
