Newsweek selected three Montreal Hospitals in its list of the “100 Top Specialized Hospitals” in the world. They are the CHU Sainte-Justine, (Pediatrics), Montreal Chest Institute (MUHC, Pulmonology), and Montreal Heart Institute, (Cardiology).
According to Newsweek, “the hospitals on this list are at the forefront of adapting to these new challenges while providing top-notch patient care. They range from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, with its peerless educational arm; to Singapore General Hospital, which pursues clinical research and offers outstanding nursing; to the Charité hospital in Berlin, which employs more than half of Germany’s Nobel Prize winners in physiology or medicine.”
Toronto General Hospital is the countries best hospital and the only Canadian hospital in the Top 10 global-list, placing 7th. Ten Canadian hospitals ranked in the global 100 list, including three from Quebec, Jewish General, Montreal General and Royal Victoria.
In creating the lists Newsweek collaborated with the global market research firm Statista Inc., and private medical insurance provider GeoBlue.
