Tribunal refuses to intervene in the use of mandatory overtime as a management method – FIQ contests the decision

The Administrative Labor Tribunal (TAT), last Thursday, refused to intervene in the question on the use of compulsory overtime for nurses as a management mode. The Tribunal ruled that when there is no strike, it did not have jurisdiction to deliver such an order.

The Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ) union had asked the Tribunal to issue orders against 28 employers in the health and social services network concerning their use of mandatory overtime as a management method.

The FIQ disagrees and has indicated that it will request a review of this decision.
