Jewish General Hospital Included in 2020 Montreal’s Top 100 Employers – Superhospitals Left Out

The Integrated Health and Social Services University Network for West-Central Montreal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal), which includes the Jewish General Hospital (JGH), is the only healthcare centre on the 2020 winners list of Montreal’s Top 100 Employers.

Both Montreal’s superhospital centres, the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) didn’t make the winners list. The MUHC last appeared on the list in 2015.

The CIUSSS West-Central Montreal services a network of approximately 362,000 people over 30 healthcare facilities, with a staff of over 10,000, including approximately 700 doctors.

The network includes the Jewish General Hospital, three specialized hospitals, five CLSCs, two rehabilitation centres, four residential centres, two long-term geriatric residences, and a couple of day centres.

Selection Process

The CIUSSS West-Central Montreal was compared to other institutions in their field to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. The healthcare networks were evaluated by Canada’s Top 100 Employers editors using the same eight criteria as the national competition:
