The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) issued an internal email earlier today confirming the first MUHC case of coronavirus COVID-19.
The memo said a young adult who had recently returned home from a trip to Europe presented them selves to the emergency department, with respiratory tract problems and has tested positively for COVID-19. The young adult was placed in isolation.
The hospital centre said that all security measures have been taken, and all staff that may have come into contact with the patient have been notified. The MUHC also confirmed quarantining the personnel who were in contact with this patient was not required.
A source who asked to not be named confirmed to Manuel’s Blog the emergency department was the Royal Victoria Hospital at the Glen superhospital.
