Quebec Designates the Labs of the MUHC, Jewish General Hospital Plus 5 Other Hospitals to Speed Up Detection
Since Friday COVID-19 cases in Quebec have doubled from 25 to fifty. To contain the spread of the Novel coronavirus, Quebec has designated the laboratories of five Montreal hospitals to speed up the detection process.
As of Tuesday the MUHC and the Jewish General Hospital along with the CHUM, Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital and Sainte-Justine Hospital will be performing COVID-19 test analysis.
The other two designated hospitals are the Center hospitalier universitaire de Québec and Center hospitalier Université de Sherbrooke.
Health Minister Danielle McCann said the designated labs will increase screening from 1600 to over 6000 analyses per day.
