For a period of two to four weeks, the Quebec government will give $573 a week to workers who aren’t being paid while in isolation, in addition to individuals who lost work because of the financial impacts of COVID-19.

The government said the decision was made to avoid workers not respecting self-isolation recommendations if they have recently returned from abroad or are showing Novel coronavirus symptoms.

Quebec Labour Minister Jean Boulet said requests forms will take about 48 hours to process and will be available by Thursday, with the funds being directly deposited in recipients’ accounts.
