Artist and Former Police frontman Sting appears on Rolling Stone magazines, In My Room IGTV video series from his home studio in Wiltshire, England
During the May 1, clip, the artist acknowledges the sacrifices healthcare workers are enduring in the fight against Covid-19 and asks listeners to support them by taking the necessary precautions to avoid getting infected.
“I’m lucky enough to have a recording studio here, where I can work everyday,” he says. “I’m very fortunate; I’m very grateful. I’m also grateful for our healthcare workers, who are doing an extraordinary job, risking their lives everyday on the front line. The best thing that we can do is to help them, and not to get sick, and not to add to their workload, because we are all in this together,” Sting on n My Room IGTV.
Sting also performed “An Englishman in New York,” in tribute to his adopted home that has been severely struck by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Some of my favourite cities in the world have been hit really hard by this virus, not least New York City, my adopted home, so this is a song about N.Y. in better times, that will return,” Sting.
