According to a recent Ipsos poll, even though only 71 per cent of Quebecers said they already wear a mask when they go inside public places, 80 per cent support mandatory mask legislation.

The poll conducted between July 8 and 10, 2020, exclusively for Global News found 79 per cent of Canadians support this style of policy.

The study also revealed support for a mandatory mask policy is driven by an urban-rural divide. Eighty per cent of urban residents support such a policy, while support drops to 67 per cent in rural Canada.

According to a second online poll conducted by the Angus Reid Institute (ARI), between July 10 and 11, 2020, seventy-four per cent of Canadians support mandatory mask policy in public places.

The ARI poll also showed that women in Canada are more inclined to support mandatory mask policy, with 81 per cent of female support compared to 66 per cent of male support.
